AERC standard evaluation processing time is from 20 business days. There may be a delay if documents are not complete or further research and/or correspondence with the applicant or institution is necessary. Rush orders are available for an additional fee. All processed evaluations are kept on file at AERC for a period of four years.
Educational equivalencies and placement recommendations provided by AERC are in accordance with established guidelines and represent the judgment of its evaluators. AERC evaluation reports are provided on an advisory basis and are not binding on any agency, institution, or third party. AERC and its personnel are not liable for any incidental or consequential damages as a result of any service rendered or for refusal of such service (no refund will be given if evaluation was not accepted by institution). The applicant or party concerned agrees to reimburse AERC and its personnel for any and all costs and damages, including fees, which may incur as a result of any claim by the applicant or by any one affiliated or having interest in the services rendered to the applicant. AERC is not liable for materials lost, stolen or damaged in the mailing process. In the event of any disputes between the applicant and AERC, such disputes will be determined by submission to arbitration as provided by California law and not by lawsuit or resort to court process. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) prohibits the release of evaluation reports and records without the applicant's consent.
Alteration or irregularities in records presented will result in such documents being impounded and the information disseminated to other institutions and evaluation services. Refunds will not be processed in such a case.
Failure by the applicant to supply any additional requested documentation within 90 Days will result in the cancellation of the application with no refund.
The official sealed envelope of the evaluation must be opened by the institution or the interested party. If failing to do so, applicant must request an additional copy for a charge of $30.00. In the case of picking up original documents and results by relatives or friends, AERC requires written authorization with the signature of the applicant.
Once receiving the evaluation result, please take the time to review your copy of the evaluation report. You have 30 days from the date of this evaluation to raise any questions concerning its content with no charge. Any questions regarding the evaluation must be submitted in writing and mailed to the above address.
